Spend Analysis helps provide context deeper than what your GLs and P&L can tell you on the surface. That's because Plate IQ automatically categorizes items using a very granular categorization tree created by dozens of professional chefs using sophisticated Machine Learning techniques.

Now you can audit these categories with a new tool called Category Review.
Add Categories to your GL Accounts
Navigate to your Chart of Accounts and assign categories to your GL Accounts.
We recommend starting with your top 5-10 most used GL Accounts for now. You can add one or many categories that match your GL Accounts.
Items assigned to GLs whose categories do not match those assigned to its GL will show up in `Category Review` in the Todo List.
Audit your items' categories with Category Review
Now that your GLs have categories, any time items assigned to those GLs have categories that do not match their GL Categories, they'll show in Category Review:
Simply `Accept` categories that are correct, or replace the categories that are incorrect.
We'll remember your categories for future items. Your categorizations will also help our machine learning algorithms improve making future item's categories more accurate.
