After you upload your first invoices, Plate IQ automatically categorizes your items. You can edit the categories or custom categorize in a way that best fits your restaurant. For any uncategorized items, you can:


1. Update Uncategorized items on the Spend Analysis page:


Click on the uncategorized items on the spend analysis graph to add your category.


Your uncategorized items will be listed underneath the chart. Click the Add a Category box and simply select a category from the drop-down list. The Plate IQ categorization system will automatically show you the root categories.

To update a category, simply click on the “X” on the root category and type in the new one.
